On October 6, 2015, the first charging station for electric vehicles within the framework of the Moscow ETransport program was opened in Moscow at paid municipal parking lot at 20 Bakhrushina Street. This program is implemented by the Government of Moscow in partnership with PJSC “ROSSETI” and is a logical continuation of MOESK-EV project, under which 28 charging stations for electric vehicles already operate in Moscow.

The opening ceremony was attended by Roman Berdnikov, the First Deputy General Director for Technical Policy of PJSC “ROSSETI”, Dmitry Pronin, Deputy Head of the Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development of Moscow, and Aleksandr Areshkin, Director for Business Processes Automation of PJSC “MOESK”.

According to the project, 150 charging stations for electric vehicles will be installed at paid parking lots within the Third Ring Road. Also, by the end of 2016, this network will include the already existing charging stations installed in Moscow in 2012-2014 under MOESK-EV project. Thus, by the end of 2016, the total number of charging stations for electric vehicles in Moscow will be about 200.

Within the framework of the Moscow ETransport project, PJSC “Rosseti” purchases and installs, at its own expense, charging stations, develops software and creates maintenance service systems, while the Department of Transport ensures the effective deployment and use of the charging stations through establishing the necessary legal and regulatory framework.

“We are currently planning to disseminate the experience of the Moscow ETransport program in regions of Russia and continue the development of the all-Russia program on development of the charging infrastructure. By the end of 2018, we plan to install a thousand charging stations in 10 regions of Russia,” said Roman Berdnikov, the First Deputy General Director for Technical Policy of PJSC “Rosseti”.

For reference:

Development of the charging infrastructure for electric transport in Russia started in February 2012 when the first charging stations of PJSC “MOESK” for electric vehicles were opened in Moscow.

The pilot project was called MOESK-EV (EV stands for electric vehicle). Results of the first stage of the project (October 2011 - February 2013) formed the basis of the all-Russia program on development of the charging infrastructure for electric transport up to 2020 that is currently being implemented by PJSC “ROSSETI”.

Within the framework of the project, 28 charging stations are installed in the capital, most of which are today open for general use.

The current operation status of a charging station can be checked on the website of MOESK-EV project. Issuance of free MOESK-EV cards is organized in the central office of the Company at 7 A. Solzhenitsyna street.

PJSC “MOESK” is also currently carrying out a campaign “A charging station within a walking distance” based on which the charging stations will be installed in the places that will chosen by Moscow residents. Anyone can file a request to install a charging station by filling in the questionnaire on the official website of the Company in the “About the Company/MOESK-EV/File a request to install a charging station” section or by clicking
