As a result of the carried out reconstruction the substation capacity was increased 17.5 fold and accounted for 700 MVA.

Central Electric Grids branch of Open Joint-Stock Company “Moscow United Electric Grid Company” completed the assembly and installation and put SF6 circuit breakers into operation as well as the current transformer of 220 kV at 220/10 kV “Penyagino” substation located in the north-west of the capital. The reconstruction of “Penyagino” substation will help to provide the reliability of the power supply of the quarters of “Penyagino” and “Mitino” where the housing construction is carried out as well as the construction of “Krokus EXPO” exhibition centre.

In 2008 Open Joint-Stock Company “Moscow United Electric Grid Company” put into operation 3,844 megavoltampere of the transformer capacity.
Over 2008 during the realization of the investment program, OJSC “MOESK” constructed and reconstructed the power objects for the total amount of RUR 38.9 billion which 2.5 billion increased the capital investments in 2007. The Moscow region witnessed the reconstruction of 19 substations, 940 km of cable and overhead power transmission lines of the different voltage rate. The specialists constructed 189.75 km of power transmission lines of 0.4-6-10 kilovolt.

Central Electric Grids branch of Open Joint-Stock Company “Moscow United Electric Grid Company” began to use the premises of the Okruzhniye high voltage grids (OHVG) of the South-Eastern administrative district of the capital. The capital construction carried out at the basis of “Vykhino” substation helped the power engineers to concentrate the management at one place as well as all the required technical services of OHVG. Central Electric Grids responsibility zone is home to 10 OHVG relating to the administrative districts of the City of Moscow.
