The main direction of High-voltage cable networks industrial activity is to provide the reliable transmission of power in Moscow and the Moscow region through 110-500 kV cable lines. Operation and maintenance of these cable lines is carried out by the personnel working in 7 well equipped shops together with production service and departments.
These subdivisions carry out the set of works directed to technical service of high-voltage, low- voltage and control cables, technological equipment, tele-mechanics facilities and tele-measurements, cathodic protection facilities, ventilation and water removal. VHCN specialists carry out the assessment of technical and design proposals directed to use of new cable types and cable attachments, construction project decisions and the reconstruction of 110-220 kW of cable lines, the engineering supervision over the construction of five new lines.
The current ten years showed that the main thing is the use of the progressive type of cable with isolation made of cross-linked polyethylene. In Moscow, during the reconstruction of present and the construction of new 110-220 kV cable lines the cables and box joints in use are of different Germany, Swiss, Finland and Russian factories production. The necessary skills level of the personnel carrying out the service of different cable types is actively supported. The cables of 1000 mm2 and 1200 mm2 are used to increase the transmission capacity of increased levels of electric power. The new achievement is the construction of the high-voltage cable with all the implied fiber-optic conductors to control its temperature and transmission capacity in the real time regime. The development of automation telemechanics and implementation of the computer facilities to the industrial process are paid great attention to.
Works directed to the implementation of the modern telemechanics equipment with information transition to the control center showing the cables oil pressure, circuit-breakers positions, fire and security alarms. Information on the amount of oil pressure in cable is used in the automated system of dispatching control together with short and long term forecasting of lines pressure change.
For processing and visualization of information at the control center of VHCN the modern complex of acquisition and reflection of information on the collective screen is used. Information from sensors fixed on the cable lines and technical equipment let in the real time mode to control the condition of 110-500 kV mode. VHCN is the constant participant of the international exhibition “CABEX – cables, wires and accessories” in Sokolniky exhibition center and annually were awarded by honorary diploma.
This year, Moscow authorities and the managers of our company, took the important decisions directed to development and reconstruction of power grids and the power supply reliability increase and also the reconstruction of cable lines together with the change of oil-filled cables for cables with polyethylene insulation.
In the near future, High-voltage cable networks together with other branches of our company and the construction contractor organizations will carry out the putting of cable line of more than 100 km during the construction of new and the reconstruction of present cable lines with the increase of the cables transmission capacity.
The policy of our company is directed to the improvement of its activity, the challenges of the previous years put forward a lot of new tasks to the HVCN personnel. Together with this should also be mentioned the peculiarities of work at power market during the transition period of the power systems reforming, assimilation and implementation of the personnel management modern technologies, implementation of the quality management system on the basis of ISO 9000 family standards and the improvement of social reporting in the company. The early solution of these issues will provide the increase of the high-voltage cables productivity, power transmission risks decrease, and customer and investments attraction.
